Privacy

This notice explains what happens to personal information in connection with the pre-launch chat-that.com website. It describes only the processing that genuinely applies today.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Current status of this website

ChatThat is in private development. This website is informational: it has no accounts, no sign-in, no payments and no product functionality.

The launch-list signup form and all associated email collection are currently disabled. No email input is shown, no address can be submitted, and no email marketing provider (including MailerLite) script, embed or other external resource is loaded. If launch-list signup is switched on in future, this notice will be updated before it goes live.

Email enquiries

If you email hello@chat-that.com we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message. We use that information only to read and reply to your enquiry and to keep a record of the correspondence.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — responding to someone who has chosen to contact us. Emailing us does not add you to a marketing list, and we do not use enquiry addresses to send marketing.

Retention: enquiry correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for the enquiry and any follow-up, and is deleted when it is no longer needed.

Hosting and security logs

The website is hosted by Fasthosts. Like all web hosting, their infrastructure automatically generates technical logs when a page is requested. These can include your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the HTTP response, and your browser's user-agent string.

These logs exist to serve the site, keep it available and protect it against abuse and attack. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — operating and securing the website. Retention is controlled by the hosting provider's standard log retention and is short-term and proportionate; we do not use these logs to build profiles or to identify individual visitors.

Cookies, analytics and browser storage

This website sets no cookies of its own, uses no analytics or advertising or tracking tools, and does not write your information to local storage or session storage.

There is one external resource: web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When a page loads, your browser requests those font files directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and request headers as part of serving them. No cookie is set by this website to do so.

Service providers

  • Fasthosts — website hosting and infrastructure logs.
  • Google (Google Fonts) — delivery of the website's typefaces.
  • Our email provider — receiving and storing the enquiries you send to hello@chat-that.com.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising or profiling.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask for erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where it applies. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Privacy enquiries

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask anything about this notice, email hello@chat-that.com. Please describe your request clearly so we can identify the correspondence it relates to.

Changes to this notice

As ChatThat moves towards early access, this notice will be updated to reflect any new processing — for example if launch-list signup is enabled — before that processing begins.
